Overview

Modeling the philosophy that individuals cannot grow without the support of family and other community supports, The Family Center relies on myriad collaborations with local and state governments and non-profit agencies. We welcome referrals from any agency, church, school or community group who feels their families could benefit from our work.
How to Make a Referral
If you are interested in making a referral, please call The Family Center during our business hours and ask to speak with the Clinical Coordinator. If the Clinical Coordinator is not immediately available, the receptionist will take your name and number and have the Clinical Coordinator return your call within 24 hours.
The Intake Coordinator will spend some time gathering information on the person you wish to refer for services, and will either suggest that you have the potential referral call The Family Center directly, or will set up a time to do a formal intake with the referral through you.

How to Make an Appointment
For individual appointments with Family Therapy Services:
Please call The Family Center during our business hours (listed above). The receptionist will take some basic referral information. The Clinical Coordinator will return your call. You will be advised by the receptionist if The Family Center currently has a long waiting list. In the case of a long waiting list, you may not receive a return call until you are within two to three weeks of assignment to a therapist.
When you are called, the Clinical Coordinator will spend about 20 minutes gathering your personal information and insurance information. The Clinical Coordinator will review this information and match you with the most appropriate therapist here at The Family Center. Your insurance will be verified, and your assigned therapist will then call to set up an appointment with you.

In circumstances when language is a consideration, someone other than the Clinical Coordinator may call you in your preferred language.
For Family Support Programs:
Please call The Family Center during our business hours (listed above) and ask to speak with the Group Leader for the group you are interested in attending (Parenting Journey, Parenting in America, or Transitions). The Group Leader will then schedule a time in which you can meet in-person to go through the intake process; Family Support intakes usually take about an hour.
