The Family Center has spent over twenty-five years working in poor and immigrant communities, committing ourselves to finding effective approached to strengthen vulnerable families in deep turmoil and crisis. At the same time, we have taken what we have learned and have designed effective programs and curricula which are easily grasped and, with sufficient training, can be taught to all levels of providers working with families.

To expand our impact, The Family Center established The Parenting Journey Training Institute  as vehicle for disseminating its philosophy and comprehensive models for working with at-risk families. The Parenting Journey Training Institute first site is in New York City and will serve as the model for our national expansion initiative. The Institute’s work is focused on training human service providers and para-professionals who are charged with working with troubled families. Our ultimate goal is to provide these front line human service workers with the tools needed to fortify family bonds and build family resiliency.
