Letter from our Executive Director

Greetings from The Family Center and The Parenting Journey™ Training Institute. Now that we have established an anchor in New York City, we know we will achieve our vision of a learning community dedicated to building healthy nurturing families that succeed. In our 12 years of experience training providers to use our Parenting Journey curriculum, we have observed that human service workers "in the trenches"-those with the hardest jobs and frequently the least resources-are in need of new tools and the ability to use them. We are committed to training front line workers to use our unique curricula, and building in-depth, lasting partnerships with agencies. I am excited to welcome Carolina Grynbal as the Institute's Director. As a long time human services manager, trainer and teacher in the City, I know that Carolina's experience and leadership will ensure our success in this exciting new phase. We look forward to doing this wonderful work in partnership with you.

The Parenting Journey has a new home in the City!
We were thrilled to host our ever-growing "Parenting Journey" family at our Open House on October 17th, 2007. The theme was "Strong Families Rule! New Tools for Building Strong Families." Friends, supporters, Parenting Journey facilitators and parents all joined us at the Edwin Gould Foundation's beautiful space to celebrate the opening of our New York-based training hub. It was an exciting event that affirmed our commitment to serve the family support community in the City.
